Slop Blocker privacy notice
Applies to version 0.5.4
Slop Blocker runs a personal content filter on supported websites in your desktop Chrome browser.
Information used
The extension reads post/comment text and the page structure needed to identify supported content. It uses the current page URL to choose filtering rules and distinguish posts from replies. The popup reads the active tab when you open it to show this page's status.
Supported sites include X, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google Search. LinkedIn scoring is limited to feed and post routes (`/feed` and `/posts`); messaging, jobs and profile pages are not classified. Only explicit post/comment text containers are candidates, excluding composers and sidebar content. LinkedIn access can be disabled independently in the popup.
Text is scored locally using bundled JavaScript rules and lightweight model parameters. Text and temporary filtering decisions stay in page memory. They are not saved as browsing history and are not uploaded to a developer, model provider, or other service.
Information stored
The extension stores only your enabled/paused preference, filtering level, website switches, Hide reveal bars and LinkedIn diagnostic preferences, and Google AI overview preference in Chrome's local extension storage. It does not use Chrome's synced storage. Individual reveal decisions last only within the loaded page. A collapsed-item count is passed locally to the extension's service worker for the toolbar badge.
Network, accounts, and camera
The extension makes no external network requests. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, remote model download, account system, camera access, biometric collection, or human-verification feature. Websites you visit still make their own requests under their own privacy policies; collapsing their content does not prevent the website from loading it.
Control and deletion
You can reveal any collapsed item, reveal a whole page, pause a website, or pause the entire extension. Removing Slop Blocker from Chrome removes its locally stored preferences. Page-memory filtering state is discarded when that page is unloaded.
LinkedIn diagnostic mode
When explicitly enabled, diagnostic cards display local scores, triggers and extracted text while leaving recognized LinkedIn content visible. Reports remain in page memory and are not automatically saved or uploaded. Export is an explicit user action that saves a local JSON file containing post text and diagnostics, without author/profile metadata or page URLs. Only the diagnostic preference persists in local extension storage.
Limited use
Slop Blocker uses the information described above only to provide the filtering and diagnostic features you choose. It does not sell or transfer that information, use it for advertising, or use it for credit decisions. Slop Blocker adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
